Despite its small size, Bampton has a surprising range of local amenities including pubs, restaurants, a late-opening supermarket, po...st office, butcher, greengrocer, chemist, and a heritage and visitor centre. The town has a rich history stretching from its Saxon origins through the Norman motte and bailey, the medieval wool and pony trade, and the quarrying of local stone.
