May Cottage is a bright and comfortable single storey two bedroom cottage sleeping 4 (+ cot) with beautiful views of the East Devon countryside, just 15 minutes drive from the M5 (J27). Guests have access to a large warm indoor swimming pool (33ft), sauna, gym, children's play areas, 12ft trampoline, laundry facilities, an enclosed pond area with ducks and friendly chickens and two acres of grounds. Inside there is a double and twin bedroom, family bathroom, open plan fitted kitchen, lounge and dining area. The cottage is well equipped with central heating, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD and free WiFi. May Cottage has its own patio area overlooking the gardens and surrounding countryside, ideal for soaking up the sun or al fresco dining. Cot and high chair are available on request at no extra charge. We are pet friendly and welcome well behaved dogs at a supplement of £20 per dog per week. Spanish, French and Greek spoken. This is a small, quiet community of farms and cottages with a timeless feel. The hamlet is home to Huntsham Court, a... magnificent Grade I listed Elizabethan manor house now used as a private events venue, and the medieval Church of All Saints. There is no shop or pub in Huntsham itself, but the charming market town of Bampton is just 2 miles to the north, and the larger town of Tiverton is 5 miles to the south.

Bampton (2 miles) is a pretty Devon market town with a good selection of independent shops, a post office, a Co-op convenience store, and several pubs. The town holds a popular weekly street market and is well known for its annual Exmoor Pony Sale and the Devon Petite Fair.
Tiverton (5 miles) is a busy market town with a wide range of shops, supermarkets (Tesco, Lidl, Morrisons), banks, a leisure centre, and the historic Tiverton Pannier Market, which has been trading since 1251. For larger retail needs, Exeter is approximately 25 miles south and offers full city-centre shopping.

Bampton to Dulverton Riverside Walk -- Starting just 2 miles away in Bampton, this lovely walk follows the River Batherm and then the Exe southwards before joining the River Barle into Dulverton. A wonderful day walk through varied Devon and Exmoor scenery.
Grand Western Canal Towpath, Tiverton -- Approximately 5 miles from Huntsham. A flat, easy-going 11-mile towpath ideal for walking and cycling. The canal is a designated Country Park and Local Nature Reserve, rich in wildlife including kingfishers, herons, and dragonflies.
Knightshayes Parkland Walks -- Approximately 5 miles from Huntsham. The National Trust estate at Knightshayes has several waymarked walks through mature parkland and woodland, with views across the Exe valley. A gentle and rewarding outing, especially in spring and autumn.

Beaches
Exmoor Coast -- The nearest coastline is the dramatic Exmoor coast, approximately 40 to 50 minutes' drive north. Minehead has a wide sandy beach ideal for families, while Porlock Bay offers a more wild and secluded shingle beach backed by salt marshes, with wonderful views along the coast.
North Devon -- The golden sand beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde, and Saunton Sands are approximately 50 to 60 minutes' drive to the north-west. Superb surfing, rock pooling, and family beach days.
South Devon -- Exmouth and the Jurassic Coast are approximately 60 minutes' drive south. Exmouth has a long sandy beach and a lively seafront, and marks the western end of the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast.
